Sharon taught as a part-time lecturer for the Department of Occupational Therapy 1997- 2000 and rejoined as adjunct faculty in 2008. Starting January 2009 Sharon serves as the Program’s Academic Fieldwork Coordinator.
Sharon has 21 years of clinical experience in occupational therapy practice. Her interest areas include psychosocial practice, community based services and gerontology. Sharon has served the profession as an OT provider, Regional Manager, Occupational Therapy Consultant and Health Educator.
Sharon has presented at several national and regional occupational therapy conferences. She was a featured presenter for the AOTA professional development program: The Essentials: Creating Effective COTA/OTR Partnerships. Sharon served on the editorial board for Advance for Occupational Therapy Practitioners and contributed to the publication’s “Best Practice” in Occupation-based therapy award.
Sharon has served as a fieldwork educator for the IU MS in Occupational Therapy program and as the fieldwork coordinator for Marshall University School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Division of Occupational Therapy in Huntington, West Virginia.
