IUPUI is Indiana's premier urban research university. The campus enrolls more than 30,000 students in 21 schools and academic units.
I'd like to welcome you to the Department of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University.
As new Department Chair, I have been busily engaged overseeing the establishment of our student selection process, developing an innovative and contemporary curriculum, searching for qualified faculty and overseeing the creation of state-of-the art instructional space for the OT classes.
Due to a mandate from the accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education, the Department is transitioning from baccalaureate to post-baccalaureate (graduate professional) education.
Students interested will be preparing to be conferred a Master of Science (MS) degree in Occupational Therapy. Students interested in the MS in OT will hold a bachelor's degree in a field of study (e.g. psychology, biology etc.), have a required minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0, completed the required prerequisites, have a minimum of 12 clinical observation hours, participate in a group interview and complete an application.
If admitted, students will begin their study during Summer Session II before Fall Semester of the first graduate year. Click here to learn more about our curriculum.
We're very proud of the fact that Indiana University's Occupational Therapy Program has a 50-year history of graduating competent and qualified Occupational Therapists.
Our graduates are practicing in both traditional settings (such as hospitals, rehabilitation centers and cooperative school systems) as well as new and emerging settings (including correctional facilities, private practice and adult day programs.)
Department faculty is committed to each student's understanding and achievement, life-long learning and professional development, as well as valuing research and evidence-based practice.
Again, welcome to the Department of Occupational Therapy at Indiana University. If you have any questions about our curriculum or prerequisite course requirements, please contact:
