Directions, parking information, visas, and accommodations

There is no reserved parking for IUPUI Commencement. However, a number of parking garages and surface lots are within walking distance of Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indiana Convention Center.

IUPUI can help international guests as they apply for visas to attend IUPUI Commencement.

In addition, hotels and other lodgings are available in downtown Indianapolis for Commencement weekend.

Accessibility for graduates and guests

We are committed to the special needs of our graduates and guests. Students who are participating in Commencement weekend and require accessibility assistance should call the Commencement Hotline at 317-278-1700 by Monday, May 8.

Wheelchair seating

Designated areas will be available for wheelchair seating at IUPUI Commencement and all school recognition events. A limited number of wheelchairs also will be available at no charge to guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Ushers will direct guests to wheelchair seating and wheelchair distribution centers.

Drop-off areas

Information about drop-off areas for IUPUI Commencement are available on the Lucas Oil Stadium website.

School recognition events held at the Indiana Convention Center will be accessible via the Maryland Street entrance, which has a circular drive where students and guests with disabilities may be dropped off at the lobby door.

Another Indiana Convention Center drop-off area is available on the west side of Capitol Avenue at Georgia Street. This entrance is most accessible for guests attending recognition events in Rooms 134–138 and Hall J.

Closed captioning

For guests who have difficulty hearing, IUPUI Commencement will be closed-captioned on several large screens in Lucas Oil Stadium.



Special note: Students with disabilities requiring special accommodations who are participating the university Commencement ceremony should contact the Commencement Hot Line at 317-278-1700 by Monday, May 2, if they have not already done so. Information needed is name of student and school with which student will be seated.
