Undergraduate Certificates

The Department of Health Sciences offers three undergraduate certificates to complement a Bachelor’s degree or be earned individually. 

  • Certificate in Gerontology (18 credit hours)

    The Certificate in Gerontology provides you information relating to:

    • Physical and psychosocial aspects of aging
    • Health and disability among the elderly

    The Certificate in Gerontology prepares you for careers in/as:

    • Liaison between older adults, caregivers, loved ones, and health care service provider(s) and systems government relations
    • Aging Consultant
    • Aging Advocate

  • Certificate in Global Health and Rehabilitation Studies (18 credit hours)

    The Certificate in Global Health and Rehabilitation enhances your knowledge and awareness of:

    • Global rehabilitation and health care systems
    • The interplay among social, political, economic, technological, and cultural factors of society that affect the incidence of disease and disability

    The Certificate in Global Health and Rehabilitation prepares you for careers in/as:

    • Government relations
    • Liaison between US/Foreign health care agencies

  • Certificate in Rehabilitation and Disability Studies (21 credit hours)

    The Certificate in Rehabilitation and Disability Sciences provides you with an:

    • Appreciation and understanding of the changing needs of people with disabilities

    The Certificate in Global Health and Rehabilitation prepares you for careers in/as:

    • A disability advocate
    • A medical device sales rep
